November status
It's been a busy few weeks since I have been back from the UK. Work has been busy with end of the year stuff like reviews, the house is being prepped for winter, and I have had to distro my calendars. Not to mention the mountain of photos I have had to edit from the UK trip, and November's themed competition for the local photography club. And I haven't stopped photographing stuff, so the files to edit keep coming. All good problems to have.
The Lake District and St. Andrews photos are coming along nicely. I have been taking my time, clearly, in selecting and editing them. I have lots of photos I am happy to have taken which may end up printed and displayed in my house, lots that are fantastic vacation/travel style photos which may end up in a book, and a few that will ultimately end up in my portfolio. In all, over 5000 photos snapped on the trip. Lots of duplicates, lots of just snap shots, and lots of photos just trying things out, see if the idea looks as good as I thought it would. They'll be finished in due time, by the end of the year, and perhaps by the end of November.
Since I have been back, I have had a few sessions in the backyard photographing birds and squirrels around the bird feeder. As well as a session at Madison County Nature Trail and Ditto Landing for fall colors, fog, and then Ditto Landing for possibly some bird photos. Ditto Landing did not pan out, the heron was too far away, even with my 400mm prime and a 2x extender on the R7, the photos weren't worth editing, or even sharing. The birds photos from the backyard, love them. Same with a few pics I took at the Nature Trail. They'll be shared below, let me know which one is your favorite!
