New domain and other news

I've been back from the desert for a few weeks now. All of my photos are edited and uploaded to my Flickr account. I'll share some more I haven't posted in a later post, maybe today. Today's post is one of those catch all posts like I have done in the past to clear my blog to-do list.

Off the top, I was able to secure a new domain for the website. The current domain, https://www.caseyjohnson.photography/, will continue to work, but now https://www.caseyjohnsonphotography.com/ is active now. A few years back when I started this website, it was being used, but I kept my eye on it, and now it is mine! Exciting news if you ask me.

Over the past 2 months, I have picked up several books to help with my continuing photography education. The titles include composition, using color in composition, black and white photography, macro photography, and landscapes. I've been reading in spurts and trying to apply anything I learn to my current workflow. And then I bought three photo books, one from Robert Frank and Todd Webb, another from Fred Herzog, and Stephen Shore. I've sat through the Shore collection which I thought was curious, and have just begun on the Frank and Webb title. More on these later.

The National Contract Management Association's Huntsville, Alabama branch is using a collection of photos from my hometown, Huntsville. Here are the photos edited to 1800x1200 to fit the specs of their website, click on each to expand. Go check out their website too.

And this space wouldn't be my space without talking about some new gear. I picked up a ground pod so I can get low with my bird/wildlife photos and a few led lights from Lume and Small Rig for my macro work I plan to pick back up soon.

Ok, enough for now, be on the lookout for more photo sharing over the next few days!
