Lines, Angles, and Patterns

Wow, June has just flown by. Work trips seem to gobble up months, the last one to Chincoteague Island sure did. That said, the local club’s June competition meeting is on Monday with the theme of “Lines, Angles, and Patterns”. When I first saw the theme, one photo immediately came to mind, my photo of the curvy road with deer from my trip to Door County, Wisconsin. Then after that, I drew a blank, but had some ideas. My photo of a closeup of an elephant’s face surely could fit into the lines and patterns part of the theme, so it was shoe-in for the black and white since it didn’t have much color in it. The last two photos took a long time to decide upon. I really thought this photo I took in Stornoway Scotland was going to make the list, but it didn’t.

I uploaded it, but then changed my mind. I liked a photo I took of a church organ pipes from my 2014 trip to Zennor, Cornwall, England a lot better. I hate second guessing about things like this, but it helps that I had multiple photos in consideration. My 2nd color photo to make the list was from a trip to Ohiopyle state park in Pennsylvania. I found a waterfall with a swirling pool of fall leaves at the base, the pattern in the water is circular. This photo has never been shared as I never really liked the editing on it. Since then, I think my editing skills have improved and I really like the edit on put on this photo. Without further adieu, here are my 4 submitted photos — results post coming early next week since the meeting is Monday night!
