Slump busting

I'm happy to announce the long photography slump is over. Finally!

Last Tuesday I took the day off from work and got out early to photograph, and of course hike a bit too. My 1st stop of the day was at the Wildflower Trail at the base of Monte Sano mountain. The location was an odd choice considering I don't think I have ever taken a photo there I loved, but I knew there was potential for waterfalls since we'd had lots of rain.

Once I arrived there, I noticed I had the place to myself. The water wasn't flowing as much as I would have liked but I pressed on, looking for compositions I liked. I stopped along Fagan Creek in a few spots to capture some scenes, but nothing sparkled in my eyes. But the practice was well worth the time. And along the way, I met a fellow photographer who was out doing as I was.

In the end, I captured a photo along side the creek of a downed tree with ferns growing on it, and a photo of a rotten tree stump filled with frosty leaves. Neither will win awards, but are good enough to share here. Here they are!
