New gear on the way!

Recently I have found myself using filters less and less. My bag has a full array of filters. I have a handful of graduated neutral density filters, hard edge, soft edge, reverse grad. Then there is a 3-stop neutral density, a Lee 6-stop Little Stopper, and a Lee 10-stop big stopper. Toss in the Haida M-10 filter kit with circular polarizer for a bag stuffed full of accessories. But it had gotten too much.

The past few photo outings or trips, I found myself only taking what I was planning to use. Mostly, just my Haida M-10 kit with polarizer, the 3-stop ND filter, and 1 graduated ND filter. Even then, it seemed like too much. All I ever used was the polarizer, as it cut down about 1.5 stops of light. More than enough to smooth out most flowing water, as well as cut down on glare and provide a bit of a saturation pop.

I'm still keeping the Haida M-10 kit, but I decided to try a magnetic kit from Haida -- polarizer and a 3 stop ND filter. Easy on, easy off, smaller footprint in my bag. One of my favorite retailers, 2filter.com, had a sale this last week and I picked up both for a smoking good price. Hope to be able to share some results in the next few days!
