New Gear

As usual, I did not listen to my inner accountant and I purchased some new gear. It wasn't a huge splurge, and I have been wanting a point and shoot to carry with me everyday, but it was absolutely unnecessary. I had considered a Sony RX100 VII, but I could not find one used and $1300 was a bit spendy for a point and shoot. And then there were a few Canon point and shoot cameras were considered, even did some research but $700+ was not appealing at all. So I decided on a Panasonic Lumix ZS80D for $450. Leica lens, 20 megapixels, the ability to shoot in raw, and in a small form factor were bonuses after the price. I hope to get it out this weekend for a test drive and will of course post photos here.

In other new gear news, I decided I needed a 10 stop neutral density filter and picked one up for about $100. It’ll fit my current Haida magnetic filter system too. I haven’t been a fan of the ultra long exposure photography in years, but I have found myself needing a 10 stop filter on occasion. Anyway, I hope I am done for the foreseeable future with gear.
