April assignment results

For April, there were two themed contests I had planned to submit photos to. One was FredMiranda.com and the other was the local photographic society. The themes were “Loud” and “In the Woods”.

Once I returned from Kauai at the beginning of April, I started work on selecting photos for both contests. For FredMiranda’s “Loud” entry, I selected a photo of a Kauaian rooster. They’re feral and everywhere. And fit the bill for the theme. This is the photo I selected. Over the course of the month it received 16 votes, the most of the 4 photos entered in the contest. It was my 2nd assignment win!!!

For some reason, I thought the deadline was a few days after what I thought for the local club’s monthly contest. I had a slew of photos selected for “In the Woods” theme, but pissed around and didn’t get anything entered. A few waterfall photos were earmarked as well as a photo of the dead Lenga tree forest in Torres del Paine National Park. I felt like I had a shot, but you don’t get a shot if you don’t enter. Lesson learned. Anyway, here’s the aforementioned Lenga tree forest photo.
