My local photography club’s monthly competition’s theme for January was stairs. I don’t have many photos of stairs, that is unless it leads to a door, so I struggled a bit with this theme. In the end, I chose a photo of a spiral staircase at the Tate Britain, and the stairs in a pool at a condo I stayed in while in Kauai. I thought the pool stairs was a strong entry, mostly because it was different. I checked the results today and found I did not place, or receive an honorable mention out of the 53 digital color entries. In all, 3 places, 5 honorable mentions, and not a one for me. Next month’s theme is Cemeteries/Graveyards, and I have one or two definitely in mind for the competition. Stay tuned!
