ICM at Madison County Nature Trail
As promised, I am back with another entry, this time with some photos from Madison County's Nature Trail. Located on Green Mountain in southeast Huntsville, the park has hiking trails and an oft photographed covered bridge. I have photographed it many times, and since the Wildflower Trail yielded no real amount of water in the creek or said wildflowers, I found myself rushing to the park to try to beat the sun from coming up with hopes of some fog over the lake.
I didn't quite beat the sun, nor did I get any fog. Just a blue bird sky day, and a calm lake with 2 ducks and 2 geese. I did beat any crowd, actually bumping into less than a handful of dog walkers at that time. Crowds are usually never an issue, unless there is a party of some sort. Anyway, the place is absolutely amazing when foggy, or covered in fall colors.
Since neither of those things were in the cards, I had to improvise. I grabbed an obvious shot or two, a few of the one of the geese, and then I switched to trying my hand at a photography technique called ICM. ICM is intentional camera movement, and involves moving the camera while pressing the shutter button to create abstract images, with what I would describe as having a painterly feel. Of the several hundred attempts, I managed to snap several I liked and edited. Here are all the photos, which one do you like?
