End of the Year Wrap Up

This will be my last entry for 2023. I'm tired, need some time off, and have other tasks I want to get done over the next few weeks.

Lately it has been difficult to get out the door with my camera in hand. I bought a new tripod and a Canon R7 when I returned from Scotland in early October, and I am sad to say the camera still has not been used. The new Panasonic Lumix point and shoot has 4 shots on it, they were taken in my office while setting up the camera. While it has not been used, it is now carried in my vehicle every day. The reason why I cannot get out the door, it's hard to pinpoint exactly. I feel like I have not prioritized getting out, and that’s the biggest hurdle. That needs to change.

Moving right along, I bought a new camera bag. Well, not new new, but new to me. I found a used Mindshift Backlight 26L pack in green, and could not resist. $125 shipped for a bag that is close to $300 new. Hopefully it will give me the boost to get out the door.

I've updated the website somewhat. I added three new galleries, Scotland, North Carolina, and Colorado. Each gallery has 12-15 photos in each. And then I updated my main portfolio with many of the photos I took in Scotland.

The local photography club held their end of the year awards, and my photo of the birds on the pier in Patagonia garnered an honorable mention. I am unsure where that places me in the end of the year standings, but whatever it is, I am ecstatic with how well I did. Three first place wins over the course of the year blows me away. Now that I know how it all works, I am far better prepared for 2024. January's topic is Vehicles and I will be ready!

That's all I really wanted to get out for today as a end of the year post. Until next time, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
