Day off photo outing

A few weeks back, I decided to take off the week of Labor Day. I had not planned to go anywhere, just stay around here to enjoy some local attractions and get some household projects completed. I truly needed the break from work. I enjoy my time off, however, I hardly if ever take time off to stay home. Sure, maybe around the holidays, but I just don’t take off several days to stay at home. My time off from work usually means a big trip somewhere. Not this week, I needed a week of no pressure tasks, sleeping in a bit, and some relaxing on the couch with my cats. Mission accomplished so far!

So far, midway through the week off, I have photographed birds on the Tennessee River, the Space and Rocket Center, the Botanical Garden, and a Trash Panda baseball game. I’m still working through many of the photos I took, but have a few I can share here right now. While at the river, I spotted a pied-billed grebe hunting for crawfish which was the reason I took close to 1000 photos in about 30 minutes. For the outing, I took the R7 along with my hardly ever used EF 100-400 lens.
