Chincoteague Island
Processing 8000 photos is no easy task. Especially when the majority of those are photos of birds, egrets namely. That's what I took on my trip to Chincoteague Island on the coast of Virginia. I've been back just shy of three weeks and I've just now wrapped up all the processing I am going to do for now. I believe I have close to 100 keepers, with likely 7-10 to make the portfolio.
Since I knew I'd be photographing wildlife almost exclusively, I decided to take my Canon R7 and just 2 lenses, the RF 14-35 f4, and the venerable RF 100-400. I didn't even take a tripod, and I am glad I didn't. The trip was fantastic for photography. My hotel was two minutes from Assateague Wildlife Refuge and Seashore which I visited a handful of times, despite the mosquitoes. In the end, photos of a lighthouse, egrets, eagles, seagulls, signs, the coast, boats, and life around the coast appear in my collection. Here are a few from the trip, more to share later.
