Barber Motorsports Museum

A few weeks back I visited Barber Motorsports Museum outside of Birmingham, Alabama in Leeds, Alabama. The museum claims to have the world's largest motorcycle collection of over 1600 bikes, and many Formula 1 cars. While not a motorcycle guy, a day out with my camera was what I needed. And with the Alabama heat, an indoor outing was a must. To boot, the building is drop dead gorgeous and there is a race course behind the museum.

About 15 years ago I made my first visit to the museum. At the time, I'd not found photography so there is no documentation of the visit. Then in 2009, a friend asked me to go to an Indy car event there. I remember taking my Fuji FinePix S5700 and taking some terrible photos. Just checked them, yep, terrible.

Back on track, the museum did not disappoint. I took my Canon R5 paired with the Canon RF 35mm f1.8 lens, and left blown away with the bikes, the cars, the race course, and of course the gorgeous building. To end the day, had to stop at Milos in Leeds before the drive home. The full set of photos can be seen here, but these are my favorites from the day.
